Faaa Tahiti Stake Members Perform Service
The calm of a sunny Saturday morning in Tahiti was broken by the sound of sirens and the alarming sight of dark smoke rising from a cluster of homes not far from the Faaa International Airport in October 2007. Breezes had caught the cinders of a nearby barbeque, setting fire to 18 homes, a number of vehicles, household gas tanks, and some 50 gallons (41 UK gal) of stored gasoline. Firefighters worked for hours to evacuate residents and subdue the blaze. Â
