Barack Obama & Mormon Policies

Do you think the Church will now have to battle serious policy change with a senate majority and President now Democrat?

Like what changes do you think they would have to make?

The question is to vague on what you are thinking?

The church is in many countries around the world.  I don't see anything changing with a new president?  Maybe your understanding of Church policies are incorrect?

I doubt anything will change, at least not within the church. Look at the California prop. 8 maybe the rest of the country will change and they will be at odds with the US leadership

The only issues that I forsee are those concerning abortion. Young lds women that get in trouble might think its OK to have an abortion and then be surprised when their membership is in jepordy.

Some buds of mine think that Obama will also help the cause of the gays, etc.

Well the US citizen's tax dollars will be paying for them, not only in the US but funding abortions all over the world.

I don't know about Church policies but I wonder if they will call again a Black General Authority since we do not have one since the days of Helvecio Martins.

you mean if god will call a black general authority, he is the one who is supposed to do the calling.

So he calls the person for an interview, sit down and meet? We both know he does not. So when I said "they" I referred to Church leaders as you well know. We have Church leaders who through inspiration (I do not dare to say in all cases) call people to serve in the Church.

When you receive a calling and you talk about it with family and friends. Do you say, God called me as the Young Men President or you said the Bishop called me as the Young Men President? No difference here.
