portage, Michigan - Shane Murphy is a 17-year-old student at Mattawan High School, but he starts school every morning in Portage. For the past four years, Murphy has set his alarm clock extra early every day of the academic year so he can attend seminary. "Starting out in a spiritual way sets the tone for the entire day," Murphy said. "You perceive things differently when you've been into the scriptures for an hour before school even begins."
